Flipboard with its famous founder and full coffers made a big splash this week with its iPad app. It certainly signals a new way of consuming your feed using a interaction model that does away with the email client form we've become accustomed to and introduces us to the Magazine format. While Flipboard seems to be more of a designed twitter and Facebook client, Tweetmag from the folks at TeehanLax promises to do more filtering, surfaces and emphasizes those links that are trending or popular with Twitter.

Time will tell if either of these have the right stuff. I suspect the future lies somewhere in between and somewhere borrowed.
